FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
Privacy Notice
Updated 13 October 2026
Who we are
OllieTime is provided by AB15 Media and Technology Limited, registered in Scotland (SC902666), at 38 West Craigbank Crescent, Aberdeen AB15 9AU, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal information we process to provide OllieTime. For privacy questions or requests, email support@ab15mediatech.com or telephone 908 230 8002.
This notice covers OllieTime and its video-checking service for families in the United Kingdom and United States. Apple, Cloudflare and Google/YouTube are involved as described below. Apple and Google also process information for their own services under their privacy policies. You can contact AB15 about the information practices described in this notice.
A note for families
OllieTime is designed for children aged 12 and under and is set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Children use the library their parent prepares. Use a nickname for a child profile; OllieTime does not need a child’s full name, email address or date of birth.
For children: your parent chooses the videos saved here. Playing a video connects to YouTube. Ask your parent before following a link or leaving OllieTime.
Your family library and security
Child profile names, chosen covers, folders, saved YouTube video IDs and their assignments are stored in the family’s private or shared iCloud database. Devices connected to that family can access its shared library. The app also keeps information on the device to display the library and remember settings.
Family security records include checks used to validate the Parent PIN and recovery phrase, rather than the original PIN or recovery words. Keep the recovery phrase private. If you enable Face ID or Touch ID, Apple checks your identity on the device; OllieTime receives the result, not your face or fingerprint data.
To connect devices, OllieTime uses Apple-provided account and app-download identifiers, subscription information, connection identifiers and encryption keys. A directory and encrypted connection requests are stored in CloudKit’s public database. These connection records are separate from the private family library; they do not contain child names, the Parent PIN or a readable Apple purchase proof.
Checking and playing videos
OllieTime sends YouTube video IDs to our checking service, hosted by Cloudflare. The service uses YouTube API Services to check availability, permission to play within OllieTime, age restrictions and Made for Kids status, and to retrieve titles, channel names, thumbnails and duration. It does not receive your child profile names, Parent PIN or YouTube login from the app.
Our service processes connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver requests and limit abuse. Cloudflare also processes technical request information and service logs. These identifiers are used to deliver and protect the service, not to create advertising profiles. OllieTime keeps local troubleshooting information, such as connection failures and playback error codes. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send; please do not send passwords, PINs, recovery phrases or unnecessary details about a child.
The YouTube player and thumbnail requests connect the device to Google/YouTube. They may collect device and network information, identifiers and playback events, and store or access cookies or similar technologies, subject to their policies and the playback context. OllieTime uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player and temporary player storage on the device. This does not prevent Google receiving requests or erase information held by Google. OllieTime does not require a YouTube login or ask for access to your YouTube account.
OllieTime does not add its own advertising or cross-app advertising tracker. YouTube may show advertisements, recommendations and links within its player. These are controlled by YouTube; OllieTime does not promise an ad-free experience.
OllieTime does not create a history of each child’s viewing for advertising, sell family information or use it for targeted advertising. We do not change the app’s behaviour in response to browser Do Not Track signals. Google’s separate practices, including collection through the player and other services over time, are explained in Google’s Privacy Policy; our absence of an advertising tracker does not mean that third parties receive no information.
Why information is used
We use information to provide the family library and subscription you request, connect your devices, protect access, check videos, troubleshoot problems and answer support requests.
For the parent’s account and purchased service, we rely on performing our contract with the parent. For family organisation, security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting, we rely on legitimate interests in providing a useful and reliable service, balanced against users’ rights and children’s interests. We rely on legal obligations where information must be kept by law. These bases describe our processing, not Apple’s or Google’s separate processing.
Who receives information
Apple provides iCloud storage, device authentication and App Store purchasing. Cloudflare hosts the video-checking service and its database. Google/YouTube supplies video information, thumbnails and playback. Connected family devices receive the shared family information needed to use OllieTime. We do not sell family information.
Apple, Cloudflare and Google operate internationally, including in the United States, and information may be processed outside the UK or your home country. The arrangements depend on the service and provider. You can ask us which arrangements apply and for information about the relevant safeguards. Their privacy policies are linked below.
How long information stays
Your family library remains in iCloud when a trial or subscription ends so that it can be used in the free library and restored when you resubscribe. It remains until the family owner deletes it. Removing a video from the free library removes every saved copy of that video in the family.
Our service caches available video information for up to 28 days and unavailable results for up to six hours. Expired server records are scheduled for daily cleanup. The app stops using expired metadata and clears expired metadata and thumbnails while it is running or when it next becomes active; it cannot run cleanup while closed.
Connection requests can be accepted for up to 24 hours. We review and remove expired requests during a monthly cleanup; the acceptance limit alone does not delete a record. Connection information needed by an existing family remains while it is needed to connect that family. Deleting a family starts removal of its connection information, but a failed cleanup may need another attempt.
Our current Cloudflare Workers Logs setting keeps service logs for three days. We keep support correspondence for up to 12 months after the enquiry is resolved, then delete it unless a specific legal obligation or unresolved dispute requires longer retention. Any exception is limited to the information needed for that purpose. Apple and Google set their own retention periods for information they hold for their services.
Deleting information and your choices
The family owner can use Parent Settings → Delete Family & Data to delete the shared family from iCloud. A connected participant can leave without deleting the owner’s family. Deleting the app is not the same as deleting the family or cancelling the subscription. Apple may retain its own purchase and service records.
You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of personal information, restriction of processing, or a portable copy where the law provides these rights. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support@ab15mediatech.com; we may need to verify your authority to act for the family or child.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or your local data protection authority. Contacting us first is welcome but not required.
A parent or guardian can ask to review their child’s information, request a usable copy or corrections, request deletion, or ask us to stop further collection or use. Contact us using the email or telephone number above; an active subscription is not required. We check your identity and authority proportionately and do not ask you to send your PIN or recovery phrase. We will explain what we can retrieve and help with information stored in your family’s iCloud account. If you want to stop YouTube receiving further playback requests, stop playing videos in OllieTime; requests already sent cannot be recalled.
If an applicable US privacy law gives you a right to appeal our decision, reply to the same privacy contact and ask for a review. We will explain the decision, your available rights and how to contact the relevant regulator. You do not have to contact us before raising a complaint with an authority.
Updates to this notice
Last updated: 13 October 2026. If our information practices materially change, we will update this notice and bring the changes to parents’ attention.
For children
Your little library
Your parent chooses the videos and folders you see here. You don’t need to tell OllieTime your birthday, email address or full name.
Where your favourites live
Your folders and favourites are kept in your family’s iCloud library. Other devices connected to your family can see them.
When a video plays
Playing a video connects to YouTube. YouTube receives information from your device to show the video and may collect information about playback. It can show ads and links to other videos.
Ask a grown up
Ask your parent before following a link or leaving OllieTime. If a video or something on screen worries you, stop and tell them. Your parent can change or remove your saved videos.
Your information
Your parent can help you read the full Privacy Notice below or contact OllieTime with a question about your information.
